This May, we present to you an unique opportunity to be part in highlighting the interdisciplinary of our community, via an oral presentation or a poster !
The "PhD's Day" of the Doctoral School, Environmental Sciences,
will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of May,
at the Agora Haut Carré, Talence.
You can choose between between among four different sessions:
1. Evolution of systems in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
2. Through spatial and temporal scales
3. Toxins in geological eras: impact of disturbances
4. R & D in ED: interdisciplinary methods
A majority of the theses currently being explored in our Doctoral School focus on local systems (Landes forest, vineyards of Bordeaux, Gironde estuary, bay of Arcachon, beaches and dunes of Aquitaine, archaeological sites of the Vézère Valley etc.), inspiring the theme ‘Evolution of systems in Nouvelle-Aquitaine’ for the first session. Our research students are also working on thesis involving subjects from ‘outside Aquitaine’, from the Omo Valley to the poles, from the Paleolithic to the immediate future of predictive models, traversing intertwined spatial and temporal frames, motivating the theme for the second session ‘Through spatial and temporal scales’. Natural or anthropogenic disturbances can have an impact on the environment. There are still visible traces of ancient climatic variations. Likewise, human activities will have an immediate and a long-lasting impact on the environment. The study of these disturbances whether macroscopic (climate change) or microscopic (microplastics, nanoparticles etc.) will be discussed in the third session ‘Toxins in geological eras: impact of disturbances’. The final session ‘R & D in the Doctoral School: interdisciplinary methods’ will dwell into new methods and tools designed and deployed by researchers affiliated with our doctoral school.
We cordially invite you to submit your proposal (poster or 10 min oral)
before the 15 of April, 2018.
With the intension of not further burdening you, we request you to recycle your existing posters or presentations. Furthermore, it is an excellent opportunity to tweak your communication skills and build networks into a diverse audience.
